New York City

Brooklyn Brewery

February 19, 2016

GUYS. It was FREEZING in New York City this weekend. Like I’m not joking when I say that the temperatures were in negative numbers when M and I left the apartment on Sunday morning.

But being the busy traveler that I am, I wouldn’t let that stop us from doing everything we had planned and so I dragged the boy around the city with me. And one of my favorite activities we did over the weekend (and I like to think that it was his favorite too, since it was his Valentines gift haha), was spending Saturday afternoon in the Brooklyn Brewery.

Hawaii Travel

Iao Valley

December 14, 2015

Can someone fly me back to Hawaii please? Although I really can’t complain about the weather up here in Connecticut lately because it’s been absolutely gorgeous, I’m still missing the surf, sand, and sun of Maui. And that’s just one reason that I’m so excited to share the pictures I took on my trip with you guys over the next few days! It’s just another excuse to daydream about being back on island time.

Funnily enough, one of my favorite things that I did with my dad was up in the mountains and not on the beach. On my second day, we drove up to Iao Valley and explored one of the island’s worst kept secrets.

Goodbye Paradise, Hello (Again) Real World

November 30, 2015

After spending many lazy days on the beach and exploring the island of Maui, to say that I’m not quite ready to go back to work would be an understatement. From hiking up mountains to see waterfalls in the rain and canoeing out to sea in search of sea turtles, to eating the freshest poke of my life (and ordering seconds!), my week long stay in Hawaii was a trip that I won’t forget anytime soon.

But it’s Monday and a new week, which means that I’m back at my desk and once more being a productive member of society.

Le Diplomate

November 16, 2015

Before our weekend getaway in Washington DC, my boyfriend and I did a lot of research about what we wanted to do and see. We came up with the normal touristy activities (i.e. the Mall and all of the museums), but I was especially interested in where we should go out to dinner on that Saturday night.

I’d heard a lot of good things about Le Diplomate from friends and also on Instagram, which I’ve found is a really awesome resource when figuring out what to do on vacation. Plus my boyfriend lived in Paris for a few years, so I figured that it would be a win-win since escargot is one of my favorite french cuisines and it’s a dish that Le Diplomate is famous for!

Brunching at Boqueria

November 11, 2015

I love brunch. And not only do I love to eat and drink at brunch, but I also love to talk about how much I love brunch.

So when I say that I had one of the best brunch experiences a few weeks ago, it should not be taken lightly. When my boyfriend and I were in Washington DC, we met up for brunch with one of my best friends from home at a restaurant that I’ve been wanting to try for a while now–Boqueria. They have locations in both New York City and DC, and I’m kind of surprised that I’ve never gotten around to stopping by before during one of my trips into the city since I live so close.

Anyway, the reason that Boqueria is amazing and one of my top restaurants to brunch at is because not only are drinks bottomless but so is the food! I can’t believe that more restaurants haven’t caught onto this trend because I’m a huge fan, and I’m sure most people would be as well!

The Pool Room, Four Seasons Restaurant

October 22, 2015

A few weeks ago, I was in New York City with my dad for a long weekend to take a class at NYU and also to take the GOES TSA Precheck interview, so I was pretty busy and running from place to place. On our second night in the city, dad took me to a restaurant that he’s always loved and that he wanted to introduce me too now that I’m a “young professional”–The Pool Room in the Four Seasons.

We took a cab to the restaurant, racing through Manhattan, watching as the rain poured around us. Am I the only one who thinks that New York is romantic in the rain? Obviously not when I’m with my dad, but the idea of walking down the street and sharing an umbrella with your significant other just sound like such a romantic idea.
