It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these posts! And my first one in August, which is definitely one of my favorite months because it’s my birthday month!! I’ve been pretty busy this past week and I’m excited to share more of what I did in future posts. But for now, here’s a quick glance into my travels and celebrations of the week!
There are very few things in life that I take more pleasure in than a good margarita and guacamole. It’s the simple things in life, right?!
So when I first moved up here, my dad and I went out to explore the neighborhood and came across the cutest restaurant in West Hartford called Bartaco. Upon seeing that they had both margaritas and guac, we quickly grabbed a table and happily checked out the menu.
Last weekend I took advantage of the beautiful weather and my frees day, and so I decided to drive out to Lyman Orchard in Middlefield, CT. I’ve always had a soft spot for picking berries because my family and I have done it almost every summer ever since I was little, and so I decided that despite the fact that I couldn’t join in with everyone that I didn’t have to totally miss out on the fun.
It’s hard to believe but I’ve officially survived my first week of work and today is my one week anniversary of living in Connecticut! While this might not seem super exciting to some of y’all this is really the first time that I’ve been truly out on my own and I like to think that I’m adjusting well so far. I’m even going to be making blueberry muffins later today with the fresh blueberries I picked yesterday to celebrate!
So this is a day late but I actually have a good reason… I started moving into my new apartment in Connecticut! It’s both very exciting and very nerve-wracking to think that I’m going to be starting work a week from now. Am I the only one who thinks it’s weird that I’m finally old enough to be calling adults by their first names and not Mr. and Mrs.??
