Last Weekend in Rewind

June 14, 2014

Last Friday we had a pretty easy day at the Institute; all we had planned for the day was visiting Sotheby’s ‘Modern & Post-War British Art’ auction preview in the morning. I enjoyed this sale much more than the Russian Art preview we visited the week before but unfortunately the auction itself, which we watched later this week, was not very successful despite the various big names within the sale. I did end up buying a sale catalogue as a souvenir though!

After our tour, I decided to walk around the area to better acquaint myself and ended up stumbling upon Green Park which I had no idea was anywhere nearby. I grabbed food from a takeaway place and had a nice little picnic in the park, eating while I read my sales catalogue.

The City from St. Paul’s

May 24, 2014

Dad and I passed on eating breakfast this morning and instead made our way over to the Marble Arch tube station. I somehow managed to lose my Oyster card from last fall, so I had to buy a new one and dad got a 1-day pass. This might sound silly but it was really exciting to ride the tube again for the first time in almost five months. I was overwhelmed by the number of people pushing past us but it was so easy getting from station to station and I’m sure that I’ll get used to the underground again in no time.
