I like to think of my purse as similar to Mary Poppins’ purse—the more things I can fit inside of it, the better. My work purse is really my lifeline for all things during the day, and I actually pride myself on fitting all of my necessities in my Rebecca Minkoff purse. It might take some time to fit everything together but it’s definitely worth it to have all of the little things available throughout the day.
What are your work purse essentials??
Was I the only one who literally could not stop hitting the snooze button this morning?? It was just one of those mornings where I could barely keep my eyes open while picking out what to wear to work and putting on my makeup, which is weird because I can usually wake up pretty quickly once I’m up and out of bed… I guess that I just have a case of the Monday Blues!
It’s Monday again, y’all!
With fall approaching ever closer on the horizon and the summer temperatures slowly starting to drop, I decided on a whim last week to take off Friday from work because the weather was supposed to be absolutely beautiful. And luckily for me, the weather forecast was correct!
Over the last few months, I’ve been getting more and more into eating healthier and working out. Maybe it’s because the weather’s been so nice that it’s actually enjoyable to go out for a run or the fact that I’ve been hanging out by the pool in a bathing suit on the weekends, but whatever the reason I’ve been feeling very motivated as of late.
And while I don’t think that I’ve lost much weight, I definitely feel stronger with every gym class I attend (i.e. I don’t feel like I’m going to pass out within the first 10 minutes anymore) and I’ve been trying to eat fewer processed foods and have been upping my fruit and veggie count for the day. Plus that endorphin high, which always makes me feel like a fitness goddess as I leave the gym, really can’t be beat after a long day at work!
I’m going to be completely honest with y’all–I really haven’t been reading as much I would have liked to this summer. What with finishing up my certification for work earlier this month and life in general, most nights I tend to find myself sitting on my couch and binge watching The Killing before going to bed.
But now that I’m not reading a textbook at work all day, I’ve made a inner pact with myself to catch up on my reading. Which means that I’ll be watching less Netflix (sigh) but also means that I’ll finally start cracking down on the books that have just been sitting on my bookshelves for the past three months!
Good morning, y’all!
Truth be told, I’m not much of a morning person. I always joke that my best talent is my ability to sleep wherever or whenever, which is especially true when I’m in my own bed. So my alarm is not my best friend when it wakes me from my beauty sleep every morning, to say the least.
As I roll over to hit the snooze button (God bless whoever inventing snoozing), I usually debate whether or not I actually have to go to work that day… Which of course is a silly thought because how else would I be able to pay for my overpriced Lululemon workout leggings and my weekly trip to the wine store?? So with tired eyes and a very naggy cat who wants to be fed, I drag myself out of bed to face the day ahead of me. What I’ve actually found helps me most in the mornings is to follow a set routine, so that I never get too distracted by what’s happening on Twitter and Instagram and somehow find myself still in bed with only 5 minutes to get to work.
