One of my favorite parts about college was the fact that I lived within walking distance of most of my friends. In fact, it usually took me about a five minute walk max to make it from my apartment to another apartment or house.
So it was hard for me when I graduated and moved up north, which meant that to see the majority of my friends even for just a weekend I would have to either catch a train or hop on a plane. Despite the distance, I try my best to keep in touch and keep up with each other’s lives whether that means sending a text or actually picking up the phone and giving them a call.
Y’all I am so excited that it’s finally Friday! I’ve had one of those weeks when you wake up on Tuesday and think that it’s Friday when you first wake up, so the weekend has been a long time coming for me.
What’s more exciting though is that I’ll be flying down to Atlanta later today to see friends from college for the weekend!! I’m taking a half day from work and should be reunited with my friends by Happy Hour tonight!
I always feel so incredibly blessed during this time of year. Despite having spent all of my money on Christmas gifts and having usually gained 5+ lbs thanks to all of the holiday cookies in the office, January is a rose-tinted month for me in every way. Maybe it’s the last of the high from spending time with family on Christmas or the fact that the year is still so fresh, I’m extremely grateful for everything and everyone in my life.
So why not spread the love through giving back to the community?
Who else loves snow days as much as I do?! There’s nothing I love more on a winter day than heading out and explore the freshly fallen snow, mostly because I love how quiet the world gets after a storm.
I hope that everyone is having the most fantastic holidays with family and friends!
I don’t know about y’all but I spent most of my time at home eating way too much dessert (calories don’t count on Christmas though, so it’s fine), and sitting out on the beach since the weather’s been absolutely gorgeous down south this past week. Not to brag but it’s been 70 degrees without a cloud in the sky since I landed in Charleston, which has been such an amazing change of pace for me after all of the snow we’ve been getting up in Connecticut lately!
After long days at work and the random snowstorm we had yesterday (seriously, where did the snow come from???), I’ve been looking forward to this weekend for what seems like forever now.
Work hard, weekend harder, right?
