Not going to lie, I was very lazy when it came to taking care of my hair in high school and college. In fact I used to get asked by hairdressers when I’d go in for haircuts if I was a swimmer because my hair was so dry… Yup it was THAT bad.
Luckily for my hair, I’m a whole lot better nowadays about taking care of it and taking the proper steps to keep it looking (and feeling!) healthy, strong, and shiny. Plus who doesn’t love walking up and down the aisles of Target looking for new beauty products?!
Whenever someone compliments my skin, I automatically get all flustered and it literally makes me happy for the rest of the day. That’s because, in truth, I’ve battled acne for the best 10 years… Which at times got so bad that I would come home from school when I was 13/14 and cry because I thought that I was so ugly.
Luckily after years of learning how to deal with my skin and mastering which face washes, moisturizers, etc. work best with my sensitive skin, I’ve come to be comfortable in my own skin and not worry that everyone’s staring at me. I still get the occasional breakout on my chin (grrr hormonal breakouts) but otherwise my skin stays relatively clear.
Now that it’s starting to officially feel like spring (the temperatures are supposed to get up into the 70s this weekend!!), I’ve found myself doing a lot of spring cleaning and redecorating. Most of which involves me gleefully folding away my heavy winter jackets and hoping that I won’t have to even look at them until next winter. It’s funny because by the end of summer I always find myself looking forward to wearing jeans and chunky sweaters, and now I’m in the exact opposite frame of mind. Get me a bikini and a pair of flip flops ASAP!
I’ve also spent a quite a bit of time in Target and Home Goods lately, trying to find the perfect apartment décor for the spring season. So lots of florals and blooms, as well as bright colors which makes me incredibly happy every time that I walk in my front door. Have you guys found yourself redecorating for the warmer weather?? I really want to get some fairy lights to hang around my bedroom window but I still haven’t found the perfect string yet!
I’m a little obsessed with my iPhone. If it’s not in my hand or in my pocket, then it’s probably lost somewhere lost in my bed and I’m frantically looking for it. Whether I’m snapping pictures, texting friends, or scrolling through Instagram, I feel like I embody the typical member of Generation Y.
And you know what else I love? The beach. Growing up by the beach, I find myself daydreaming about the ocean waves and laying out on the sand almost everyday now. Which is unfortunate since we’ve been having so much snow lately in Connecticut!
Luckily with CaseApp’s unique custom designs, I can combine my two loves and make my phone look beautiful at the same time!
I have a love/hate relationship with my hair. Some days I wake up and my hair looks amazing and shiny and everything’s right in the world. And then there are other days when I wake and my hair is standing on end and it literally looks like I’ve been electrocuted in my sleep… Which could actually be a possibility since I sleep so heavily!
Luckily for me, and everyone else out there who wakes up in the morning looking frighteningly similar to a sheepdog, the team at Irresistible Me has just what the hairdresser would order–their Diamond Styler.
I love jewelry, as I’m sure most of y’all do as well. The fact that you can change the look of an entire outfit based on whether you choose to wear a statement necklace or even stud earrings just makes getting dressed (even if it’s just for work) so much fun in the morning. And because of that I’m always on the lookout for new beautiful pieces to add to my jewelry box, whether that be online or rummaging through vintage shops.
Which is why Valentina is one of my favorite new brands that I’ve come across lately. Not only are their bracelets absolutely gorgeous and crafted individually by hand, but you can also know that you’re making a change with every order you place. Following the belief that jewelry should not only look amazing but should stand for a cause, Valentina donates 10% of all proceeds to various charities. Just in the past year, Valentine has partnered with five charities and the proceeds from each bracelet goes towards one of these specific cause.
