GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment

April 22, 2016

Whenever someone compliments my skin, I automatically get all flustered and it literally makes me happy for the rest of the day. That’s because, in truth, I’ve battled acne for the best 10 years… Which at times got so bad that I would come home from school when I was 13/14 and cry because I thought that I was so ugly.

Luckily after years of learning how to deal with my skin and mastering which face washes, moisturizers, etc. work best with my sensitive skin, I’ve come to be comfortable in my own skin and not worry that everyone’s staring at me. I still get the occasional breakout on my chin (grrr hormonal breakouts) but otherwise my skin stays relatively clear.

But what still plagues me to this day are the blackheads that stubbornly refuse to budge on my nose. And even though I know that I’m probably the only one who notices them, I just find them so annoying every time I look at my skin closeup in the mirror (note to self: let’s stop scrutinizing yourself in the terrible bathroom light).

But now that I’ve found Glamglow’s Supermud Clearing Treatment, those blackheads don’t stand a chance. Developed my dermatologists, the Supermud Clearing Treatment “visibly draws out dirt and congestion while a proprietary six-acid blend dramatically brightens and softens skin.” Which basically means that it’s the worst nightmare of those stubborn blackheads that refuse to budge by magically (I’m pretty dumb when it comes to science so I’m still a little unclear how this mask works) drawing out dirt from your pores and leaving skin feeling soft and clean. Plus it’s weirdly satisfying to watch the charcoal mask change colors as it soaks into your pores.

Another bonus is that I’ve noticed that the pores on my nose look significantly smaller and that my t-zone hasn’t been quite as oily since I started using it 3x a week! Which basically makes the Supermud Clearing Treatment the Holy Grail of my beauty routine, and totally worth every penny that I spent on it. Although this mask is definitely on the expensive side, I only use it on my nose and sometimes my chin so it should last for a very, very long time. Plus if you buy it on Amazon like I did you can get a pretty sweet discount!

Do you guys have a favorite skin product that you can’t live without? I also love my Acure organic face wash and scrub!

I’ve tried one glam glow product and it was so rough on my skin I think it scared me to try others, but you’ve convinced me to give the brand one more go!! Happy weekend girl! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

    • I have super sensitive skin too so I totally understand. That’s why I only use it a few times a week and just on certain parts of my face (my cheeks love breaking out when my skin gets too dry)!

    • I read reviews of their thirsty mud mask a few days ago and that sounds like an amazing skincare product too! Thanks for the recommendation!

  • I’ve never heard of GlamGlow before! I, too, have struggled with acne for about the same amount of time as you. There have been seasons where my face would completely clear up, but would they’d come right back again no matter what I would do! I tend to break out with mostly whiteheads on the sides of my cheeks and jawline, I wonder if this would work just as well on whiteheads. I’ve found that products that work great for blackheads, for some reason don’t work on whiteheads; I’ll have to look into this product. Also, do you find that the cleansing scrub helps a lot in treating your acne? I notice you have two here, which of the two would you suggest or do both work well together? Thanks so much for sharing, beautiful, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    • Only one of them is a scrub actually, which is the organic chlorella scrub. I find that if I exfoliate my skin too often that my skin can get rough, so I only exfoliate once a week (sometimes twice if I get a facial)! The other bottle is an organic face wash from the same company that I use everyday and I’ve loved how wonderful it makes my skin feel!

The Glamglow sounds great! I find that exfoliating scrubs tend to spread bacteria on your face and make your skin worse. I recommend Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Cleanser for clear skin 🙂 Angharad x

    • Hmm I didn’t know that! I only use my exfoliating scrub once a week because I do have sensitive skin but I’ll definitely have to check out the cleanser you recommended! Love Clinique!

    • Acne is the worst!! Luckily I’ve gotten my skin mostly under control but I do have to keep up with washing and moisturizing!

  • I got the treatment last year with pretty high hopes, but I don’t really get along with the mask. It irritates my skin (which early happens) and didn’t really help with my breakouts.

    • I’m sorry to hear that! It’s the worst when you try a new skincare mask and it doesn’t do much for your skin!

  • I used the original GlamGlow mask and I did find it effective though a bit drying
