One of my favorite things about Charleston, South Carolina is that the city has such an amazing foodie scene. There’s a restaurant on every corner (and in between!) so even though my parents have lived in the area for the past few years, I’m always discovering new menus and treats.
After getting my hair colored, which was a first for me and I’m loving how blonde I am now, I had some extra time to kill and so decided to walk up and down King Street to find something to eat for a late lunch. And because I’m an adult and can make my own decisions, I zeroed in on Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream which I had heard was amazing but had never actually tried for myself.
I was really overwhelmed when I walked in but luckily the staff were super nice and let me try as many flavors as I wanted, before I finally decided on their Brambleberry Crisp. I’d also recommend their Churro and Sweet Potato Pecan Praline flavors!
And even though it was December 28, it was so hot in Charleston that my ice cream cone started to melt before I’d gotten maybe two licks in… Although I wasn’t complaining, especially when I landed back in Connecticut to find that it had snowed while I was gone.
So the next time you’re on King Street and looking for some of the best ice cream in town, make sure to stop by Jeni’s and be sure to get a sugar or waffle cone (#treatyourself)!
