The main topic of conversation lately in my office is how no one can believe that it’s already September. I mean, it feels like summer just began and I was laying out by the pool with no worries! Not going to lie though, I’m a little over the heat as of now and I’m totally ready for fall to come so that I can wear cute chunky sweaters and my tall boots that have been sitting in the back of my closet since March. Plus this whole “working out so that I don’t look like a beluga whale in my swimsuit” thing is really starting to get tiring. So bring on it on, fall!
Celebrating my 22nd Birthday:
I’ve always loved celebrating my birthday. Being a summer baby has always meant that I was surrounded by family and friends without having to worry about homework or exams. This year though was a little different because I actually had to work on my birthday, which never really even crossed my mind and was honestly a little depressing. But there was a lot of cake in the office and plus my boyfriend and grandparents were up to celebrate with me so it ended up being a pretty exciting day!
Traveling (and broadening my horizons):
Confession time: I’m horrible when it comes to geography up in the Northeastern part of the US. I mean, there are just so many little states with such funny town names that it gets confusing for a southern girl! But I really took this month to acquaint myself better with Connecticut and the surrounding area. Not only did I spent a romantic weekend with my boyfriend in the New York City but I also recently ventured up to the Berkshires with my dad to check out small-town USA for myself. And it was the first time that I’d ever been to Massachusetts! Granted I spent most of my time dream-house hunting, but I feel like I’m really starting to get a feel for the northern way of life.
August was an absolutely amazing month and I can’t believe how fast it flew by! I’m excited for September though and everything that it brings with it (Homecoming, more traveling, etc.) and can’t wait to be even more of a go-getter now that I’m 22!
