Happy Sunday!

This week has been really exciting for me. From trying new restaurants downtown to exploring the city that I’ll be living in starting next month, I haven’t had too much time to just sit back and relax. On a good note, my lack of internet access over the last few days has forced me to sit down and read more, including a book on Paul Durand-Ruel that my dad got for me after attending an exhibition in honor of the Impressionist art collector while he was in London (thanks dad!).

My Top 5 Moments from this Week:

1. My dad and I both had appointments at the Apple store on King’s Street, so afterward we walked down the street to a new Italian restaurant, Indaco. Well actually I don’t know how long it’s been open but I had never heard of it before so it was brand new to me. I ordered the most delicious ravioli–it had ricotta cheese and a farm fresh egg inside of it!!–and dad ordered a spicy sausage pizza which had just the right amount of kick to it. I love finding new restaurants (mostly because I love eating) and Charleston never fails on that front.

  1. As I said before, I spent three days of this week up in Connecticut getting to know the city where I’ll be living for the next two years. My mentor drove me around and played tour guide for me, and my future coworkers took me out to meals and drinks. I’m actually getting really excited to move up in a month!

  2. More exciting news! I put in an application for an apartment while I was up in Connecticut and I was approved! I now own my first bachelor(ette) pad!! It’s small but homey and my cat’s going to be coming up with me!

  3. I’ve picked up playing golf recently… i.e. within the last two weeks. I played a bit in high school and I’ve been told multiple times that it’ll be a good skill to have as a woman in the business world. Plus Kiawah has the most beautiful courses, so it’s hard to complain.

  1. My mom and I ate dinner last night at a local Mexican joint that’s located in a marina and the post-sunset sky was just beautiful. I love when nature’s prettier than any filter I could come up with!

  • That food looks so delicious! Good news about the move too. There is too much beauty and life in the world to just let it all wash out in the mundane. Hopefully your cat enjoys traveling more than ours! Cheers from Tennessee!
