Life is a Journey

March 22, 2015

It’s crazy to think that at this time just last week I was lounging by the pool in Cancun with a piña colada in my hand. Although going to classes can’t really compare, it’s been nice to be back on campus with all of my friends and back to my normal routine. And since spring has officially begun I’m excited for the temperatures to start warming up and for the trees to grow back their leaves. Fingers crossed it happens sooner rather than later!

My Top 5 Moments:

  1. The night that Hana and I got back to school from DC, we joined Kelsey for dinner at a restaurant downtown that I’ve been dying to try since I turned 21–Sixth & Vine. All of my friends rave about their sangria (which I forsook since I was driving and like to think of myself as responsible) and their baked brie, so I was more than ready to make a trip to the artsy section of Winston for a taste. And boy, was I not disappointed. The brie was ooey-gooey-melt-in-your-mouth delicious and it came with not only crackers but also strawberries and slices of green apples which was a surprisingly good combination. I’m definitely going to make more visits to Sixth & Vine before I graduate!

  1. In honor of Saint Patrick’s Day, I mean I am Irish, my friends and I went to Finnigan’s Wake downtown to celebrate. The bar rented out a tent so we got to sit outside and drink our beers with what seemed like the rest of the entire Wake Forest student population. Hope everyone had a safe and happy day!

  2. I know that I’m about four years behind but my friends and I recently discovered the show “Vanderpump Rules” and I’m not going to lie, I am OBSESSED with it. Sur and its staff are just such train wrecks that it’s hard not to be fascinated by what’s going on behind the scenes at one of LA’s hottest restaurants. We just watched the season 2 Cabo episodes yesterday and let me tell you, they were pure gold. #StassiForever

  3. On Thursday my friend, Melissa, and I went to the concert I’ve been looking forward to for months–Timeflies. I’ve been a huge of the band since freshman year so it was amazing to have the opportunity to actually see them perform in person my senior year. The opening band was Heydaze, who I’d never heard of before but were way better than expected, and then Timeflies came out and just blew the audience away. The lead singer, Cal, has such a great stage presence and I found myself totally wrapped up in the entire performance, lost in the music and the experience. And the best part was that our tickets only cost $15 so it felt like a total steal.

  1. As I’ve written about before, one of my favorite parts of being involved with Greek life on campus is the social aspects especially date functions. Because our normal dates were out of town, Kelsey and I took two of our really good friends to the event. The theme was “Dynamic Duos” but we decided to break the rules a bit and dress as the dwarves from Snow White, beards and everything included. Granted we were three dwarves short but people were still able to guess who we were. And I had a total blast breaking it down on the dance floor rocking my gray beard and oversized men’s shirt.
